Product Care

The Madras Trunk creations are meticulously designed and handcrafted in India. We use carefully selected materials, including leather, textiles, and leatherette, and our expert craftsmen create each piece by hand using traditional footwear-making techniques. Our products are the result of detailed research to ensure exceptional quality and comfort. Any natural imperfections, such as creasing, shading, or irregularities in the leather, should be regarded as inherent features of the product.

To help maintain the longevity and durability of your handcrafted footwear, we offer the following care recommendations:

Care and Storage

We recommend storing your footwear in a dry, clean, and well-ventilated space, away from direct heat, sunlight, or harsh artificial light. To further protect your shoes, keep them in the dust bags or shoebox.

General Maintenance

Leather, by nature, will wrinkle and may crack over time, and the shape of the shoe will naturally evolve with wear. To maintain elasticity and help preserve the shape of your shoes, we advise stuffing them with tissue paper when not in use. For smooth leather soles, some wear and tear is inevitable, as this is a normal part of the natural aging process of premium materials and should not be considered a manufacturing defect.

Cleaning Instructions

For cleaning small amounts of dirt, use a soft cloth dampened with water and mild soap. And dry it well under the fan and not under the sun or any other harsh heat.

Additional Tips for Both Leather and Non-Leather Sandals:

  • Regular Maintenance:
  • Clean your sandals regularly to prevent dirt buildup and stains from setting in.
  • Avoid Prolonged Exposure to Water:

While non-leather sandals may tolerate some moisture, leather sandals can easily get damaged from water exposure. Avoid wearing leather sandals in rain or wet conditions whenever possible.

  • Rotate Usage:

To maintain the shape and longevity of your sandals, avoid wearing the same pair every day. Rotate between different pairs to give them time to air out and recover.

Store the sandals in a dry and cool place when not in use. Avoid piling them with other shoes, as this can cause creases or damage to the material.
